Reisen und Socken – Socken und Reisen – so heißt mein Blog. Ich ändere mal ein bisschen ab und nenne ihn ab jetzt ‚Socken auf Reisen‘. Die Idee, die mit #sylkesox in London ihren Ursprung genommen hat, begeisterte einige meiner Leser und löste Schmunzeln und Lachen aus. Dann greif ich das mal auf, vielleicht nicht ganz so lustig wie in London. Der Socken-Botschafter in #sylkesox go Amsterdam bin ich selbst. Doch nach dem Vorbild von Amélie, die den Gartenzwerg ihres Vaters auf Reisen geschickt hat, werde ich noch weitere Botschafter suchen, die meine Sox mit auf Reisen nehmen dürfen. Ein Blogeintrag ist garantiert.

Journeys and Socks – Socks and Journeys – that’s the name of my blog. I’m changing it a bit and calling it ‚Socks on the Move‘ from now on. The idea, which originated with #sylkesox in London, inspired some of my readers and triggered smiles and laughter. So I’ll take it up, maybe not quite as funny as London. The sock ambassador in #sylkesox go Amsterdam is myself. But following the example of Amélie, who sent her father’s garden gnome on a journey, I’ll be looking for more ambassadors who can take my sox with them on their travels. A blog entry is guaranteed.

Und so strickte ich wieder drauf los. Peace Sox #2. Wieder sehr bunt, aber eine Frühjahrsvariante mit Lochmuster und Knopfleiste am Rand. Tragbar nur in Sneakern. Der März war sehr sonnig, fast 20 Grad. Man konnte schon denken, dass der Winter vorbei ist.

And so I knitted away again. Peace Sox #2. Again very colourful, but a spring version with a lace pattern and a button band at the edge. Wearable only with sneakers. March was very sunny, almost 20 degrees. You could already think that winter is over.

Doch Ende März gab es noch einmal einen herben Rückschlag mit Minustemperaturen, Schnee und eisigem Wind. Die Idee, die Socken in Amsterdam in Sneakers zu tragen und für den Frieden in Peace Sox #2 zu marschieren ging leider nicht auf.

But at the end of March there was another bitter setback with sub-zero temperatures, snow and icy winds. The idea of wearing the socks in sneakers in Amsterdam and marching for peace in Peace Sox #2 unfortunately did not work out.

So trug ich sie mit mir herum und präsentierte sie im Vincent van Gogh Museum mit van Goghs Sonnenblumen, im Tulpenbeet, auf dem Fahrrad … Und sie erfüllten noch einen anderen guten Zweck. Handschuhe hatte ich vergessen. Man kann #sylkesox auch als Glox tragen (gloves + sox). Dieses Copyright geht an Ashok.
