Und wieder sind die zwei Urlaubswochen fast vergangen. Wir sind an unserer letzten Station, in Setubal angekommen. Gebucht haben wir die Biovilla, in der Wildnis, in den Bergen. Also bei Setubal, nicht in dem Ort. Nach Party, Strand und Lärm für die letzten beiden Tage Ruhe, Stille. Mit nicht ganz so viel Komfort, keiner Klimaanlage, keinem Blick aufs Meer. Dafür ein einfaches Zimmer mit Terrasse in einer Holzbarracke. Bad teilen wir uns mit dem Nachbarn. Biovilla bedeutet auch Öko: mit Wasser sparen, nur biologisch abbaubare Pflegeprodukte verwenden, keinen Müll produzieren.

Another two weeks of vacation have almost passed. We have arrived at our last stop in Setubal. We booked the Biovilla, in the wilderness, in the mountains. So near Setubal, not in the town. After party, beach and noise for the last two days, peace and quiet. With not quite as much comfort, no air conditioning, no view of the sea. Instead, a simple room with a terrace in a wooden barrack. We share the bathroom with our neighbor. Biovilla also means eco: saving water, using only biodegradable care products, producing no waste.

Das Frühstück ist vegetarisch, alle anderen Mahlzeiten auch. Und sehr lecker. Energie wird über Solarzellen gewonnen. Auffällig viele Singlefrauen sind hier unterwegs, auf Selbstfindungstrip bei Yoga und veganer Kost.

Breakfast is vegetarian, as are all the other meals. And very tasty. Energy is generated by solar cells. There are a noticeable number of single women here, on a journey of self-discovery with yoga and vegan food.

Was machen wir am letzten Tag? Man könnte mit der Fähre rüber nach Troia fahren, auf die Landzunge, die gegenüber von Setubal liegt. Oder wir bleiben einfach in Setubal, erkunden die Stadt und lassen den Tag am Strand ausklingen.

What do we do on the last day? We could take the ferry over to Troia, on the headland opposite Setubal. Or we could just stay in Setubal, explore the town and end the day on the beach.

Wir entscheiden uns für Setubal, die Stadt der lustigen Plastiken. Eine Bratpfanne mit flüchtendem Fisch, eine überdimensionale Katze, die auf einem Dach spaziert, Delphine im Park, und viele andere.

We decide on Setubal, the city of funny sculptures. A frying pan with a fleeing fish, an oversized cat walking on a roof, dolphins in the park, and many more.

Am Hafen und umgebenden Straßen ein Restaurant neben dem anderen. Die Markthalle hat am Montag leider geschlossen. Wir erhaschen einen Blick von außen. Die Festung sparen wir uns, denn davon hatten wir genug in diesem Urlaub.

One restaurant after the other on the harbor and surrounding streets. Unfortunately, the market hall is closed on Monday. We catch a glimpse from the outside. We save ourselves the fortress, as we’ve had enough of that on this vacation.

Es ist heiß und wir suchen Schatten unter Bäumen in der Nähe des Strands. Wir erfrischen uns ein letztes Mal im Atlantik. Der Badebereich ist abgegrenzt, obwohl es hier keine gefährlichen Wellen und Strömungen gibt.

It’s hot and we seek shade under the trees near the beach. We refresh ourselves one last time in the Atlantic. The bathing area is fenced off, although there are no dangerous waves or currents here.

Und den Tag lassen wir in der Biovilla ausklingen, packen langsam unsere Sachen. Am nächsten Tag geht es früh zum Flughafen Lissabon.

And we end the day in the Biovilla, slowly packing our things. The next day we leave early for Lisbon airport.

Und was ist das Fazit? Inzwischen bin ich schon seit 4 Tagen wieder in Berlin. Ich bin erholt, braun gebrannt und darf noch eine Woche entspannen. Es war definitiv weniger Abenteuer als man das von mir gewöhnt ist. Doch nach einem anstrengenden Schuljahr mit so einigen Tiefschlägen habe ich die Entspannung und Ruhe definitiv gebraucht.

And what is the conclusion? I’ve been back in Berlin for 4 days now. I’m recovered, tanned and can relax for another week. It was definitely less adventurous than I’m used to. But after an exhausting school year with so many low blows, I definitely needed the relaxation and rest.
